Need some help on thermocouple and pid stuff

I just bought some k type thermo couples I m going to build an oven and im going to build a forge looks like the forge is going together quicker I would like to put the digital readout for temp in forge where do I and what do I need to buy it does control anything just reads a temp?

It's expensive as things go, but they will last a lifetime and then some.

You can set up a digital multimeter to measure temperature.

I would not advise leaving the K-type permanently mounted. A forge atmosphere is hard on even the most resistant thermocouples (platinum-rhodium etc. = very expensive). I suppose you could bury a ceramic sheath in the forge wall, but a temporary measurement, in and out again when you have a reading has been sufficient to train both my eye and ear.
