440C spring for slippie

I need help with this, I generally only heat treat carbon steels. Can anyone tell me the proper temps to heat tteat and temper a spring for a slip joint?

I havent tried 440c for a spring but I found some info.
1 hour at 1000*f gives a 52.5 That is a little too hard.
1 hour at 1100*f gives a 43 I think that is a little too soft.
You may just have to play around with it a little to get it right.

Yeah I found the same info, kinda strange how that 100 degrees from 1000 to 1100 will drop it 9 points, Maybe I'll try 1050 and see what I get. I have not forgot about the patern you asked for, my scanner and my shop are in 2 different places and I can never get the 2 together.
