unmarked damascus

I had a billet of Damascus in the shop from years ago. There was never any mark on it to tell what its made out of. Soooooo question is this. I ground it into a santuko, how do I get it heat treated? Thanks Larry

Did it grind like High Carbon steel or did it grind like stainless?

Most likely is high carbon damascus. I would treat it like 1095 and follow the same HT you use for that steel. Then test after quench, and again after first temper . etc.
