Hello Dogs, We had a invite to a gathering at Kevins's shop this weekend. It was AWESOME. The gathering was a 3 day event, and started Friday and ran until Sunday. I was only able to make it there for the day Saturday.

They started Friday and smelted some sand into a bloom then turned that into steel and finally into the blade seen in the pictures. Was a cool thing to see.

I want to thanks to Kevin and his wife for there hospitality and share a few pictures of the stuff I saw when I was there!

Sorry I dont remember everyone's name, But it was great meeting you all and we had a great time. Randy Jr. Hunter and I left at 7 AM and spent only one day there. But I am glad we went and had a chance to meet everyone and see some of the action.

Sweet, I can see kevin throwing a great shingdig if not for bosses i would have tried to make kevins, just so i could give you a hard time randy! just kidding!! looks like every one had a good time.

I figured I'd add some pics as well. I showed up there Friday morning and left Saturday afternoon, I really wished I could've stayed longer, but from my short time there, I met some fantistic people. It was great to meet everyone there!

Some fire devils, the smelter ran from 9:00 am till probably almost 10:00 at night, lots of charcoal was chopped and used IIRC around 210 pounds

Setting up the bellows and a side draft charcoal forge to get the bloom heated up for the first hammering as it was too big to fit in the propane forge

I believe that's Delbert working the bellows

I had a really great time, I'm still really new to bladesmithing, this was my first hammer in and I'm sure it'll be hard to top. Being able to meet and talk with like minded individuals is awesome.

Thanks
Zeb
