You may ask why I put a link to a video of Scott Rodell cutting with a Hanwei Jian here. No, I am not trying to market these things. Scott is a friend. I admit. But, my purpose is NOT marketing for a friend.

I think that all who plan to be swordsmiths or who claim to be should see this.

Why here - watch and you will understand.

Heat treatment is VITAL. Not heat treating properly (according to steel specs and alloy requirements) is not only cheating but it could lead to serious injury.

Man I know what you mean . If the sword does not have good spring it might be ok to look at but, not very useful as a real weapon
I am sure everyone has seen the one on the knife show on cable ? the Guy smacks a sword on the table, the tip broke off and stabbed him in stomach. Swords are not toys even if they have a lousy temper . they can injure or kill ya. Proper temper is essential .

Kevin Hmm , couldnt see the second video ? My adobe aint working . Ah now its working . What was that a mellon on sec 53?? Sure gave it a nice haircut.

interesting. I never knew those would flex like that.
