Desert Eucalyptus Hunter

Just finished this knife. I was asked to use desert eucalyptus wood for the handles by the customer. The wood scorched with every belt I used. I tried everything from a 36-grit Cubitron to 220-AO. High speed and low speed and the results were the same. Well it is finally done and I won't use it ever again.

ATS-34 Hollow Ground Mirror Polished
Red fiber Liner
Mosaic Pins

Thanks!

Wow! That is to bad about the eucalyptus, it looks amazing and would love to get some but if it is a belt eater maybe not! Was it also hard to cut? What type of finish did you put on it? Again, WOW! Great looking knife.

Very nice...great looking wood

When we lived in California there was lots of Eucalyptus trees around and the wood was pretty but didn't seem particularly hard to cut. Of course I wasn't making knife handles from it either back then. Is Desert Eucalyptus different ?
