Forged Harley connecting rod blade

Made from Harley connecting rod steel . Blade length OL 8 3/4". Cutting edge of blade is approx 4.5

Made from 4340 Chromemoly Steel. approx 1/8" thick maybe just at tad more. Tightley wrapped with Jute type cord then lightly sealed.

Comes with smooth sheath and the right sized beltloop.


All you Harley riders heres one for the road ... Likey?

How does that forge compared to 5160 OCS...(Old chevy spring)? Good adaptive reuse of damn good steel and your execution looks good. Can you discuss your hardening/tempering fluid?
 
I like the idea. I am curious how it holds up as a blade. I bet you could sell a lot of them in harley shops or biker ralleys.
 
Sorry I didnt reply sooner I missed your post. I used parks #50 brought to critical non -magnetic, quenched, and 2 cycles at 350 for 45 minutes each . Skates a file real nicely.
 
Very Creative !!!!!!!!!!!!! Starting to like this Neo Tribal forum, love all the creative knives I am seeing here.
