this is the big bother to my Slim Chance model. this one is from W2 tool steel and is about 8.5" long. scales are blue and orange dymondwood. makes it stand out in a crowd.

Looks great. Very interesting etching. What process do you use for your etching?
 
thanks, guys. this etched finish is my default, i suppose. my standard finish. i use solid ferric chloride and add water to make a thin putty. i then apply with my fingers in a random pattern. let it sit until the color looks right.

yeah, i have never seen anyone else make it look quite like that. i can get very similar results with just yellow mustard, but it is usually a bit lighter and more subdued. protects pretty well too, my father has a display knife that has never been oiled in 5 years and not a speck of rust. he just keeps it dusted from time to time. :what!:
