Any EvenHeat 120V Users Here?

I asked this on another forum and didn't get a reply, so I figured I'd throw it out to the Dawgs!

I'm looking at getting an Evenheat oven. The problem is, I don't have 220v to my garage and it's too cost prohibitive to run it there, at least in my opinion.

I was wondering how quick a 22.5" long 120v Evenheat oven heats up to say 1500 degrees? How long will it take to heat up to 1900?

As I see it, I have two options.

1. Either buy the 120v Evenheat and hope for the best or

2. Buy the 220v model, install it on a rolling cart or toolbox and roll it to my carport and use my 5500 watt generator to power it when I need to HT.

What are your thoughts suggestions?

Mine's about 18" and gets to 1500 in about 15 minutes give or take a couple minutes.
I dont think you will be sorry. On the other hand...you do have the generator.

Some of the other guys might have more valuable input with greater experience. just my 2 cents.

This is for 18" 120V. I use this oven almost daily along with 2 x 220V models. Also see here for review of the 120V 18"

Thanks Eric and Rob.

Rob, how do those times compare to the 220v model? Looks like I might end up with an 18" model. Didn't take into consideration of the larger unit taking longer to heat up.

I ordered this exact one from Boss and it looks like it's gonna ship on Wednesday. Really looking forward to bringing some of my heat treating in house.

Up to about 1000F, I think the 120V unit may even be faster. It's really amazing. After that the 220V just runs away with heat-up times typically about half that of the 120. I have not timed the 14" models in either voltage - just the 18" 120 and the 22.5" 220.

Thanks Rob. I guess I'll have to do more thinking on this. I just remembered today that I could always run a 220v extension from the Dryer plugin to the Oven since the Utility Room leads into the Garage. I also remembered that I sometimes trip my 110v breaker when I have my heater, work light and drill press or grinder going.
