Damasteel Chef knife

Hello and good day. I just took some photos of one I have been working on..

Its Stainless damascus from Damasteel. And has damascus bolsters and rosewood burl handles with copper pins and spacers.

Specs,

OAL 13 3/4 "
Blade 8 3/4" aprox 220mm
Handle 5"
Heel height 51mm

This thing feels great in your hands.l And the mark looks excellent close up as well.
Randy is a great craftsman as well as friend and teacher.
 
Now that's just gorgeous.

A question though, if I may - how have you attached the bolsters? Hidden pins?
 
Thank you gentlemen!! As to how the bolsters are attached.. I use hidden pins..

On a bolster like this I like to use 3 but have used 2 with good success. I also use a adhesive.. so there is a mechanical bond as well as a adhesive. Which seals everything up and keeps moisture from getting trapped in between the bolster and the blade.

I have refined the way I do this over the last few years. and have found great success using brass or aluminum pins.. there soft and seem to be best for me to attach the bolsters in such a way. that they will not come off!! :D And without having to beat up the bolsters to much peaning them, to attach.
