What are you guys that are using CPM M4 steel getting your blades rc hardness to for pocket knives. I made one out of it and had it treated to 60 rc and I like it but dont know if I am getting all I can get out of it.

cpm m4 is a very fine durable steel. 58-60r/c for a knife blade is a perfect r/c. any higher r/c and brittleness comes along with that. randy.

Thanks guys. I have a slip joint that I made out of it, and just ground out a 8" bowie that I have to send out for heat treat. I love the pocket knife I can go about two weeks with out sharpening but it is still pretty sharp I just like mine to be extremly sharp.
