Damascus Fighter with Ironwood Handle

Here's a recently completed fighter.

Fighter in Ladder Pattern Damascus. (416 layers) Overall length is 11 7/8 inches. The blade is 7 1/2 inches long X 1 3/8 inches wide. The blade is all tool steel (1084/15N20) Desert Ironwood handle. German Silver fittings with red spacers. Vine file work on the back of the blade. The blade is edge-quenched. With tooled hand-stitched sheath by the maker.

Very nice work- like everything about that, and grind does look tricky but you did a great job on it- great piece for sure.
 
Very nice grind! I also like that you use a Frog post for the retention strap instead of those noisy snaps.

The mark of a true sheath maker to me!

Is there any way of indexing the handle? If you picked it up at night in the dark is there a way to tell were the edge it pointing you can feel?

It's a beautiful knife, And I don't think it would be in the field but to me it's real important that in all my knives people can feel were the cutting edge is as soon as the grasp the handle..
