Camp blade with maple handle

I finished this one last weekend. Forged from the last of my reclaimed truck leaf springs. Time to seek out some more. I used a chunk of maple(I think) that in it's former life was scrap from an old pallet. I have been saving it for about 6 years and finally decided to use it(actually I just re-discovered in amongst some junk in the basement.). After forging, draw filing and sanding I normalized the blade and triple quenched the blade in peanut oil. I also tripled tempered the blade at 395F for an hour each time. OAL is 13 3/8". Blade is 81/2". Thanks for looking

Troy that is a very nice and well done knife. That drawfiling is putting the grinders to shame. There is some great wood in pallets. Nicely done Brother......Randy
