What is your favorite product to fill larger voids? Do you add color to your filler to match the natural color of the wood. if you do how do you go about it?

I have filled voids with sanding dust from same wood mixed with elmers glue. I personally think voids in figured wood look good and don't fill them.

+1 on not filling them when they add to the piece's intrinsic value. BUT when turning pens I would use baking soda, powdered pigment and super glue to fill a void. I'd combine the first two and force them into the void then pour THIN super glue over it. This generates an exothermic reaction so be careful. Once it dries (happens in seconds) it sand very well and finishes smoothly.
