This is my third knife.
I made a dagger at the request of a friend. It is 1095 with a wenge handle and bronze fittings. The blade is 5.5" and the knife is 10.5 OAl.

Thanks for looking,

Thanks guys! I had quite a time keeping the line straight and after wrestling with it, it is great to hear nice words.

Andrew,
Thanks for the compliment!
I used a file jig I made from some 0-1 scrap to get the plunge lines started and the bit that touches the guard straight.

Then I ground the bevels on a sears 2x42 belt grinder. I stayed pretty far back from the edges out of pure fear :p
After, I hand sanded with a flat stick backing my paper for a really long time...
I had to polish it up, and start all over with 100 grit about 4 times to get the lines straight.

I had a person tell me that it wasn't any harder to do a double edge than it was to do a single edge. That means he was either very lucky or he never tried one. I'd say that it's about four times as hard. You did very well on both the knife and the filing jig.
