Cabled Gator

This is the last of a batch of blades that I had forged.
The 6" blade is cable and the handle is alligator leg bone with buffalo horn, copper and fiber spacers. It is 11 1/4" long.
Now it is time to start making sheaths and then back to the forge.
Thanks for taking the time to view and all comments are welcome.

Another great original creation Wade. I like the aligator bone and copper-buff spacers set it off nice. Forged cable looks a lot like some kind of damascus- or is it "cable damascus"?

Thank you all for the comments.
badgerknives, I use Fiebings leather dye. First sand the bone to what ever grit you are happy with. Next use the USMC black and cover the whole bone. Wipe it off before it dries, this leaves a very light black on the bone with dark black in the cracks and crevases. Now cover the whole bone with dark brown and let it dry completely. Next go to the buffer with brown tripoli and lightly buff. Some of the dye will come off but if you use a very light pressure you should get a very good result. Buff until you are satisfied. Try it you'll like it. Wade
