one i made a few days ago, went for a hamon but the edge was too thin and it ended up warping so i lost some size getting it back straight.
the blade is from a file, the spacer from vulc. fibre, stainless and cow horn, the handle is stabilized walnut and the pin is silver. 4" blade, 5mm thick at the ricasso and a bit over and inch wide, the handle is 5" long.

im not 100% happy with it, as usual the blade turned out fine but the handle let it down....

what im not happy with, along with the uneven transition between materials...

i later went on to file a grove in the horn

I think it turned out great! The filing on the horn was nice touch too.

I'm very new at this whole knifemaking thing, and as each knife gets progressively better I look at my previous work and want to go back and "fix" things. We are our own worst critics

It is a nice piece, despite the flaws that are in it. Remember what you did and on the next one.....don't do that again.
