Looking for some opinions on suppliers

I am looking to purchase some blades that are already ground and heat treated. I don't have anywhere for the supplies required to do any forging or serious metal working but I enjoy putting together kits or picking up blades and attaching scales. I have bought blades in the past from North Coast Knives and been happy with the service and prices but I'm not sure what the quality of the knives are. I would like to find a supplier(s) that is reputable that you fellow members would recommend purchasing from.
I am also wondering about the ethics of etching a blade. Is it frowned upon to etch your name into a blade that was made by someone else even if you do the finish work? I would hate to step on toes and offend a craftsman by doing this.
Thanks for the help.

well i now jantz has a ton of kit knives in there catalog, some cheaper steels and now they carry some better ones made from d-2 and 440-c and other steels, has for your stencil your finishing the kit and adding your own touch to it i dont see any reason you would not put your mark on it,myself i believe in full disclosure just let people now you make kit knives there's nothing wrong with that.

First place I'd go is to KnifeKits.com.....good rep and products.
Just about every supplier sells blades, so there goes a few hours on the computer search. Here's a couple to get you started.

As to puting your mark on a kit knife, we all have definate opinions on that little pearl.......that equine quadraped has been beat to death and my arms are tired, my can of worms is empty.
Pack a lunch,

Thanks Franklin!
Just checked out Jantz, they've got a great selection. I appreciate the reply.

Thanks Rudy!

I guess I missed the Knifedogs supplier list. I better spend some more time searching the forums!

Texas knife supply is another good site for supplies. I've done busines with all the aforementioned and they're all good to deal with...
