So i am pretty new to making knives. Here is the latest one. Still need to finish sand and finish the handle.:steve:
Ok, so i am doing this for the BF Pay It Forward build. It is from a damascus blank i bought from someone on the BF forums about 6 years ago. Ok specs are
Blade: 1080 and 15n20 damascus
Blade Length: 7 inches, sharpened edge 6.25 inches
Blade Thickness at Spine. 5/16 with distal taper.
Guard: 5/8 copper with a milled face and step( milled in seppa :) )
Handle: Exhibition Grade Birdseye Maple.
Handle Length: 4 3/4

This is the 7th knife i have made. Delbert Ealy did the heat treat @ 1500 then quench in parks 50. it went through 3 2 hour temper sessions at 400*
I spent some time sculpting it a bit.

If that's you seventh knife, some of us are in real trouble. Good looking knife Mike. My seventh knife looked like a tire iron with a hunk of telephone pole for a handle.

Thanks Tom. I am not a full time maker and only make i am guessing about 5-6 knives a year. Maybe i will be able to work on more than that, but as i do this for fun...I am in no hurry :) My first few were rough....real rough, but that was before i had the benefit of internet and awesome people helping and answering questions.

Thanks for the kind words everyone,I appreciate it all :) Figured i would post a pic of it all buffed up.

Thanks again guys :)

Very good looking knife.
I really like the sculpting.
Can't wait to see what you come up with next.

That time you took sculpting was well worth it. Fanstastic looking knife. It's hard to believe it's only the seventh knife you've made. You have great things in your future. Keep up the hard work. It's really paying off!
