Shipping a Linerlock to Italy

Does anyone know the laws or regulations regarding shipping a medium linerlock folding knife from USA to Italy?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"Firearms, ammunition and combat knives (including ornamental weapons) can be imported with a special permit obtained from the Police Office. They must be clearly declared on the inventory with make, type and serial number, and must not be included in the same container as the household goods"
this is all I could find about import laws in Italy.
you might be able to have whoever your sending it to go to the local police dept. and get more specific information.
