Knife #18 - Mother's Day present

Hey guys. I posted this over on the Kitchen sub-forum last night, but figured I'd drop a photo here as well. This is Knife #18. It is only my second kitchen knife, and will be going to my mom this Mother's Day. I hope that she likes it.

Some Stats:
Length: 10-1/2"
Blade: 5" (tip to choil?)
Steel: Differentially heat-treated 1/8" 1080 (from Kelly Cupples) Flat-Ground w/ hidden-tang
Handle: WSSI Stabilized Amboyna Burl
Guard/Ferrule & Butt-cap: 416ss

That is a real beauty, Erin. Gotta love that Amboyna. Your Mom should not only be happy but very proud of you.

Thanks Denny. I bought a bunch of this amboyna and some camphor burl off Eeeeebay awhile ago. After about 6-months drying next to my kiln, I sent it out to Mike for stabilizing. I am very happy with the amboyna results :thumbup:. I did apply a bit of tung oil for the final finish... sanding it down w/ 2000-grit and hand buffing to tone down the shine a bit.
