Need to step up my game a bit...

Ok, I'll try to keep this story short-ish...

I took all my current WIP's out to my parents house because my mom's best friend was in town and wanted to see what I had been working on. What I am working on btw, is #8 from the New to Knifemaking thread, a small 4" blade fighter, 8 4" bladed tactical type knives, a 16" OAL machete and a 16" OAL seaxe... :)

Dad told me he would buy the small fighter from me and told me what scales and such he wants on it... :D

Mom's best friend (Kathy) said that later this year, she wants to buy a knife for her son, and one for her brother. :D But here's the kicker (to me at least)... Her brother is Ken Owen. The Ken Owen that makes the custom 4-bore rifle. I feel the need to really step it up if I'm gonna be making a knife specifically for someone who spends about 10K per rifle JUST on engraving... :52:

Congrats!

Don't be intimidated, simply focus on quality materials and construction, and all will be OK.
Someone like Mr. Owens is at the top of his game.
Provide him the solid foundation he needs.

Never shot a 4 bore; an 8 bore was enough! Ouch!!!

Good Luck,
Rob
