Personal Dilema Knife

This knife was sent to me with no scales and I was asked to rescale it with some exotic wood. The customer was going to supply the wood and weeks turned into months and a year later still no scales.

About 3 weeks ago I recieved a box with some curved bone fragments and a note asking if they could be used on this knife. It looked like really large diameter leg bone so I cut it up and tried to clean it. The smell was attrocious and when I cut it on the band saw it burned and stunk up the whole neighborhood. I called the guy but he was out of the country. The box contained a healthy payment to cover the costs plus shipping plus a nifty profit so I held my breath and finished it up.

He calls me last night and confirms the shipping address and when we discuss the scale material, he tells me, are you ready for this?, it's pieces of a human skull!!

He works as a medical supply salesman and stuff like this dissappears from hospitals all the time.

So now I have this stink and dust and contamination in my shop and all over my tools and the wife is having nightmares and is ready to throw me out. What would you do?

Steve

Oh crap! I just looked at the date, I gotta get back to work.

"stuff like this disappears from hospitals all the time."

So, there is an incomplete corpse that has been laid to rest somewhere.

I'd be contacting a lawyer, and checking on the legality of having the bone in your possession. Something about "abuse of a corpse", etc. immediately comes to mind.

OH, I see what you did there.

I started to type a completely different response, then it clicked.

With scales like that, a knife should have a skull crusher on it.

Running a crime scene cleanup company I have access to quite a bit of bone. Mostly smaller pieces for inlay work.

Let me know if you need any more.

I think the only thing you can do is load up your entire shop including all equipment materials etc..., truck everything to me, I will do an exorcism, use the equipment for 50 years to make sure it is no longer haunted then you can have it back again knowing that the stuff is haunt free:)

Bill,
With some nice straight, round pieces we may be able to supply an implant specialist and possibly make inroads in the male enhancement industry.

Could be HUGE!! (no pun intended)

Steve

Ouch.
I don't think I'd have told this story Steve.
Did you finish the handle with BC Powder?

Hey Silver,
I took your advice and am shipping you my shop. It should be there any day so I suggest you go stand at the end of your driveway and wait patiently for the trucks to arrive. I suggest a 24 hr a day 365 day vigil just so you don't miss 'em.

Take sandwiches and a pee bottle.

COOOOOOOOLLLLLL!!!!!!!!! I am on the way to the driveway:) Plenty of shrubs and out of town so don't need the bottle maybe I should bring the BBQ and the garden hose for water... Figure you made sure that it was overnighted so should not be tooooo long of wait!!! Can't wait to exorsize them demons and test the stuff out. Oh almost forgot if you have any damascus knives laying around or steel that them ghosts really like to hide in the layers so you had better send that also just to be safe!!! Thanks again and I will be waiting.
