Bowie in the works

Well I wanted to make a bowie with a 2" wide blade. I've gotten to this point so far & my fingers are sore from grinding & sanding that wide blade. :pinch: I only have it sanded with 80 grit in a slurry of honing oil (helps the paper cut much better). The steel is ATS34 & the blade is 10 1/2" long. It will end up with a ebony coffin box handle, hopfully the "S" guard & the prommel will be dasmascus. I havn't made the false edge yet. Probably go to the top of the clip & extend it about half way back toward the guard.

Hey Doug, instead of honing oil try Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil. 10w30 is a good weight. You will be amazed for around $5. Knife is looking good!
