The Fighter and the Bowie

I just "finished" these up this morning... I used quotes because they still need to be sharpened. One is going to my dad, and one to my father in law.

Each 10" bladed, each ~16" OAL. 5160 blades and guards, the fighter has a cherrywood handle and the bowie has a tiger wood semi-coffin handle.

HUGE HUGE thanks to Jim Adams for helping me with these! I could never have done this without his time, equipment and patience!
I'd also like to say a thank you to James (ArcherMoon) for the wood blocks I used on these... the cherry is nice, but I'm certainly going to be coming back for some more of the tigerwood...

Thanks guys! I AM super proud of these... I can't wait to get the scales on the next one I have ready.

And again, I can't say enough thanks to Jim Adams for helping me with these blades!

Thanks y'all... I am having a blast! I can't wait to see their faces when they open them up later this week! :)

One has already been given... We don't drive out to my parents until tomorrow...

He LOVED it!

Thanks! That satin finish, combined with 2 days wrapped as a gift in a box where my dumb-butt used a water based glue for the lining equals surface rust! :( I was about to DIE when I saw it... :( :( But Dad didn't seem to care... :)
