Knife for a kid

My mother used to baby sit a kid in their church.I was at my mothers
house one day, when the subject of knifemaking came up.After I left,
mom said the kid,who was 5 at the time, wanted to come see my knives. He ask me if I would make him a knife,so he could skin his first deer. That's been a year ago,and he is now in school, but his Grandma
told my mom that he had told them I was making him a knife, although
I never told him I would,I had one on the table.I put it together, and
brought it to him,of coarse I give it to his dad.The look on this kids face was priceless.
I left with a smile on my face:5:

God bless,Keith

I know how you feel Keith.
I've made knives for 3 of my grandsons and the look of awe and surpise is priceless. I think I enjoyed watching them fondle it more than they did. Good on you.

The greatest knife a man will ever own is his First Knife...
and the greatest knife a maker will ever offer is a Boy's First Knife.
When he hands that knife down to his son,the stories it will have to tell will live on long after we're all gone.
That's the real Gift.
Bless ya Keith,you done Good!:35:

I'd love to see a picture of the boy,his First Knife, and you,all together.

oh man, that's awesome; you can almost see that deep-in-the-back-of-your-mind realization in his face: "there are going to be some great stories created with this knife!"

That is just awesome to see an expression like that on the inocent face of a kid, it is just priceless.
