Custom Knife Show, How-To

Hi all,
anyone have any tips, tricks or advice they'd care to share with regards to organizing and promoting a custom knife show?

Phone work phone work, and meet folks in person as much as possible,.. get everything lined up before you ever approach the locals to rent space.
Sometimes a local Vets/lions club etc has a hall cheaper than say a hotel meeting room.

If its small show call all your table holders at 2 weeks, 3 days out,and again night before to make sure everyone is still on,and on same page.

If its larger, still call as many as you can, and be sure not to skip over free advertising(going to any local clubs and groups and handing out flyers etc.
Post it in paper-sports section for sure as well as classifieds, get a rate for a week or 2 week run-call local radio stations etc.
Go to a local ballgame and give out flyers at gate.
Have friends take stacks of them to work if possible , tell them to spread the word to anyone who likes knives , or that hunts, fishes, shoots, etc.
Every little thing helps when youre tryin to establish a show,.. And give it time to grow- it wont be BladeShow the first time out,.. but learn what worked and what didnt and adjust accordingly for next one.
A smaller show can be held several times a year at first till it gets bigger , maybe every 4 months or so would be good.

Good luck, hope it goes well.

thanks for the input:)
Your suggestion of spending time on the phone is simple, but probably of paramount importance.
