Kurkri

Hello,
Here is a Kukri finished up and sent off to a customer not long ago. The Kukri really makes a great chopping weapons and survival tools and this one is no exception. It was kept more or less traditional however we did make a few changes. The traditional handle has a ring section in the middle that was removed because it makes using the knife rather uncomfortable after a few swings unless you are either wearing gloves or your hands are tough as gloves. I’m sure the ring does provide a more sure grip but much at the expense of comfort. Although the Kukri was not designed for stabbing we chose to false the front tip to improve upon its stabbing ability and it kind of looks cool. The blade is 12 inches of ¼” thick 1095 and the handle Rosewood scales attached to the full tang with Loveless bolts which are of brass nuts and stainless screw. The pommel and bolsters are also made from brass.

Congrats to you Kelly

Agree! Any sort of rough surface how small it is on a handle will surely cause friction to our hand. Not only it will feel uncomfortable but it surely will cause blisters after about one hour of nonstop usage without gloves :thumbup1:

Good specs for a chopper/cutter such as a khuk
