IKBS Demo, First Framelock, S35VN

I figured it was time to commit to a bearing system. So I have decided to go for my IKBS approval. Also decided I need to start building frame locks as well. Last but not least I have been wanting to try out S35VN steel. Since I "ventured" into a lot of new things with this build I decided to call this knife the Venture.

It is a spin off from my Warden model which is a standard one-hand opener Wharncliffe. For my flipper wharnie I wanted something that was more rigid like the blade itself so this is what I came up with. Still needs some tweaks here and there, but I am very pleased with the build. I am a huge fan of a heavy machine finish. The more grit the better for me so I made this knife to my personal taste leaving a very crisp clean belt finish through most of the knife.

I am very impressed so far with S35VN. The finish quality is great feels like working with 154. Haven't had much time to test the toughness, but I am sure it will do very well.

OAL: 8 1/16"
Blade: 3.5"
Steel: CPM S35VN
Lock side: .125 Ti
Bolster: .125 Ti
Scale: Green G10
Liner: .080 Ti
Bearing System: IKBS

I don't have time right now to photoshop my light box images sorry.

take care and thanks for looking
