File and Stag Bowie

Hi Dogs,
This is my first file knife. It's made from a Simond file and some stag, both of which were purchased at a local flea market for the princely sum of $9. Here's the particulars..

Blade- 8.25" file taken to 1000 grit
OAL- 13.25"
Guard- .375" thick 416 SS with Brass pin
Handle- Sambar w/CA finish where sanded

Let me know what you think. Thanks for looking.
David

Really well done! I think you could more than double your money!
Did good Mr. Crawford. Dozier

Lovely job. I prefer a slightly sleeker handle to match the blade but it's a matter of tastes.
Lovely.

I would say you got your moneys worth. Nice lookinig blade and handle. Is that a two piece guard that has been pinned? Nice work. Wade

Lovely.

Mosto, I agree. This piece of stag was a little large with no taper, but I opted to retain the small bit of popcorn texture rather than trim it down. I guess I traded one aesthetic for another. Thanks for your comment.

Wade, it's a one piece guard pinned with brass and JB welded. I only had 304 ss pin material and since it wouldn't match the 416 ss I decided to make the contrasting pin part of the plan.

Thanks to all for taking a look and commenting. Your feedback is much appreciated.
